SFMade and JUMA Ventures are partnering to launch YouthMade in 2013, an innovative new program that will place college-bound youth from low-income neighborhoods across San Francisco into paid internships/apprenticeships with local manufacturers.

 

SFMade and the Pratt Center in New York co-founded the national Urban Manufacturing Alliance(UMA) in 2011, a collaboration of more than 20 major US cities working to develop their respective urban manufacturing clusters. In addition to continuing to partner to build-out the UMA, in 2013 Pratt and SFMade also have a number of joint manufacturing “toolkits” and best practice research papers underway.

 

SFMade and the Corporation for Manufacturing Excellence (MANEX) collaborate to provide advisory services and supply chain expertise to SFMade’s fast-growing Accelerator manufacturers. In 2013, Accelerator will reach more than 20 growing SFMade companies, providing them intensive one-on-one advising support, tailored education, and assistance with hiring, finding industrial space, and obtaining growth capital.

 

SFMade partners with San FranciscoTravel to connect visitors with SFMade member companies and their products, for a truly locally made experience. SFMade has a branded store inside the SF Travel Visitor Information Center, and works with SF Travel to distribute our locally made retail map.
