The 2011 State of Local Manufacturing Report: Made In San Francisco is the result of a detailed survey we conducted of the manufacturing sector in early 2011, representing data from over 75 local manufacturers. The picture that emerges? Modern manufacturing in San Francisco is a quilt of established businesses; small and flexible “artisan” manufacturers; a vibrant and distributed web of suppliers, order fulfillment partners and distribution channels — both online and on the ground.
