Job Information

This position has an 8 month training period. The job entails inspecting fired tile for defects in color and surface imperfections. It also requires counting tile, recording losses, packing tile in boxes and organizing finished tile with the proper client order. When complete, the work orders must be entered in the computer system, we use SAP B1 and we will train.

This job requires learning all the various tile glazes (80+) and their individual acceptable variations. Must learn all tile sizes and shapes, as well as all QC standards. Candidates must pass a color blindness test due to all the various glaze colors that are used in tile production.

This job requires repeated lifting. Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs. Total weight to be lifted throughout the day is 3000 to 5000 lbs in 20-50ln increments. Once the position moves to San Francisco, there will be more conveyor-like systems and less lifting.

Qualifications/Experience

An ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Very good attention to detail, works rapidly, is always mindful of quality and has an excellent attendance record
  • Former QC exp would be very helpful
  • Person MUST follow safe lifting procedures
  • Must have a positive attitude, foster a team environment and be willing to learn from experienced personnel during a thorough training period
  • Good communications skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English

Compensation Information $13.75/hour
Heath’s production teams are part of the ILWU Local 6, this person will need to join the union. Heath offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and life after 3 months. Heath pays 100% for the employee and 50% for 2-party or family.
Location Position is currently located in Sausalito, but will move to the San Francisco facility at 2900 18th St. between Florida and Alabama, in late February or early March, 2013
Hours This is a full-time, hourly position averaging 40 hrs per week on a Monday-Friday Schedule. Hours are 7am-3:30pm. Heath’s production teams are part of the ILWU Local 6, this person will need to join the union.
